PAULA’s Test - a NEW tool in the fight against lung cancer!

PAULA’s Test is a blood test that can be used to identify your patients at the highest risk of having lung cancer NOW and allow you to direct those patients to radiological follow-up. The combination of PAULA’s Test with CT scanning will help you to identify more early stage lung cancers allowing you to improve treatment outcomes for your patients.

2% of your current and former smoking patients may have lung cancer NOW. Most of these patients will be diagnosed only after symptoms are present when typically, their cancer has advanced to the later stages and curative surgery is no longer an option.

Early detection is your most powerful tool for treatment of the lung cancer patient and has been demonstrated to achieve at least a 20% reduction in mortality due to this devastating disease. While radiography is an important tool in the detection of lung cancer its utility is limited due to a high false positive rate, radiation exposure and low patient compliance.
